Continuing the themes of control, effort and purpose I want you to consider what your life is about.
As lockdown restrictions in the UK start to lift, you have an opportunity to build the life you’d like.
To create a contented life you’ll need to embrace the ideas of balance, finding what you enjoy, putting in effort and creating your own meaning.
Depending on your own beliefs there will be different things that might give your life meaning. But whatever your beliefs, you still need to put the effort in to make these ideas come to life.
For some there will be a need to create meaning from “nothing”. This is totally feasible and gives you great scope to make life feel contented and rich. A life lived.
You will need to discern your life goals, personal and professional. This could be as simple as finishing work on time, making an hour to read or exercise, taking time with loved ones. It could also be moving towards realising a desire to run your own business or an early retirement.
No one needs to tell you what the point of life it, it’s different for everyone.
You need to create the life that suits you, often in collaboration with those around you. It can be done simply and effectively, you just need to do it.
