One of the major things lockdown has demonstrated is that we can all live a simpler life.
Most of us have been unable to pursue and engage in the complex lives we “normally” do.
I have found myself going back to and enjoying the simpler pleasures of life. For me this has meant more time outdoors, rediscovering the beauty of our various landscapes. Taking more time to experience what I’m doing in any given moment, from reading, eating to talking to others.
It’s also given me time to consider what I’ve actually missed from my life. So that when the world becomes more dynamic again I can invest my time doing things that really matter to me.
It’s easy to get lost in the noise of that we think we “should” be doing and cramming in lots of experiences/activities. I am aware that I’d aim to have most of my weekends brimming with events pre-Corona. The forced stop of the lockdowns has allowed me to enjoy being less frenetic.
As the world starts to look towards a post-Corona era, I will be looking to balance my time in a way to best suit my wellbeing. To listen to myself and make decisions based on what actually suits me, rather than trying to do too much too intensely.
