How often do you pay attention to your breath?
I suspect it’s only when you’ve pushed your body & you’ve “run out” of breath.
What I suggest is, you take time to consider & pay attention to your breath in general.
Learn to find moments of time in your day to really breathe.
To slowly & gently fill your lungs with air.
To notice the air entering & leaving your body.
See if you can concentrate on feeling like you’re breathing from your toes to your scalp & back again.
This isn’t necessarily about meditation, although that’s not a bad by-product, this is about taking time to unwind & centre yourself.
There are plenty of times in our days when it would be good to slow down a little & take a moment to refocus.
Even two minutes of deliberate breathing will be a good pause in the day to collect yourself & consider what you’re doing.
You can literally do this anywhere & you need no special equipment. It’s a great technique to calm yourself & regain composure.
Even if you’re feeling in a great place, it’s still a good thing to do from time to time in your day. To reconnect your body & mind, to remind yourself you exist as a whole person.
It’s a lovely sensation & something we can all do when we allow ourselves to.
