Is it time to reflect on the year that was and the year to come?
That’s the usual observed wisdom. This year, it would seem prudent to do something a little different.
As life seems somewhat unpredictable at the moment, it seems a great time to master the ability to live and deal with the present.
None of us are able to see into the future. We can try to make educated predictions, but really they’re always educated guesses and hunches.
Therefore if you enable yourself through education, practice and thoughtfulness to inhabit the moment you’re in, you can avoid the pitfalls of trying to aim for a sure thing in the future.
There’s always room for a few punts, just remember they may not come to fruition. Build that into your expectations and you’ll lessen disappointment.
Life and contentment (especially now) are to be found in the little things. Time spent with those you love and care about (take care of each other, it’s essential), doing pass-times that fulfil you. Stay on top of things that need doing, now is a great time for a lot of people to get organised.
Then when you can start to do more, you’ll have more time to get out and get immersed in the pleasures of life. No nagging thoughts of what still needs to be done.
It might be a slow start to the year. Use it to your advantage.
